From here on out, who would you take as a closer?

If Gagne doesnt come back, probably Brazoban. I think both will be solid though so you wouldnt get hurt either way, but unless Gagne has to have surgery (which is quite possible) then you have to go with Hermanson by default (he has the job full time).

Hermanson. Gagne could be back in a month. I'd take Hermanson for the entire year over Brazoban for a month. If Hermanson had been the closer all year he'd be the major league leader in saves.

Yea, I disagree and believe me I've followed it closer than Ozzie has. Hermanson can still get the job done and they are better with Politte setting up with Marte possibly hurt right now as well.

I'm no doctor but a second degree sprain in your elbow ligament (more serious now), the same exact one that caused you to miss 35 games already in 05, will keep you out for more than just a month.
Brazoban is simply a better pitcher compared to Hermanson. I would expect him to significantly outperform Hermanson for the balance of this season.

This entire argument can be distilled down to Yoda's sage observation. I'd run with Brazoban. I'm not liking Gagne to magically bounce back in the next few weeks.
