UGGGH those are terrible movies!
Anyways, this movie has been getting rave reviews. Ebert and Roeper called it one of the best movies of the year (and not one of those movie commercial ones, like they actually said it on the show), and the only TV critic I've seen that didn't like it was Gene Shalit, and he looks like a freak so his opinion doesn't matter. I'll probably go see it at some point, but I hate going to see movies in theaters because I feel like I get ripped off so much, which I do.
This movie i thought was one of my top 5 movies ive seen in the past year, easily in the top 2 of that 5. The only complaint one of my friends had was that his chin was as pointed as he wanted it to be, what kind of complaint is that? oh ya the batmobile wasnt what we wanted either, it was far cooler but i think the traditional bat mobil would do...
I had not heard any review or anything before seeing it, just got called by my friend asking if i wanted to see it.. so i did.
The way it is set up is very good too, starts with him as a kid and slowly progresses to batman saving gotham.
All the characters are likeable, the movie is extremly well cast, which makes this move that much better.
It has Morgan Freeman that was an unexpected suprise as hes one of my favorite actors
The fight scenes are unbelievalbly good, and i mean good, granted at times you got a little confused as to which one was batman since alot of people are in black in the movie but the one on one fight scenes are amazing.
there is also a very good car scene chase, top of the line there.
RyanK nailed it. Man, this movie was AWESOME. It got a kind've-standing ovation in the theater where I saw it, and I've only seen that happen for Lord of the Rings, Schindler's List and Jurassic Park. Make sure you see it on the big screen so you can really get the full effect of the fights, effects and sounds, becuase this is a big-time action flick, and make sure you see it with a packed audience.
Christian Bale - man this guy can be ANGRY when he wants to be. I knew Batman was supposed to be vicious, ruthless and completely hardcore, but damn. Carries the flick. The supporting cast is perfect. Good guys, bad guys, everybody, just right. The plot, story, dialogue, Alfred, everything is great. Gotham looks awesome. It's even got a surprising amount of humor.
The best thing about it - it's a comic-book movie, yeah, but it's probably as close as you can get to a "real" movie while still being about superheros and evil plots. Sooo sweet, I'm already excited for Part II.
First off I am a huge Batman fan. I saw the first movie 13 times and up until yesterday it was my favorite movie of all time. Now Batman Begins takes the cake.
Yep it was the BEST of the Batman movies thus far. I thought Michael Cain was a perfect Alfred.
Bale in my mind surpassed Keaton as Batman. Outstanding movie.
Just saw it myself and have to agree---this movie kicks SERIOUS ass.
I mentioned to my buddy that it reminded me of the first Spiderman. Everything just seemed to be done right and the Batman franchise SHOULD be reborn again and become huge.
I also think they should do whatever it takes to make sure both Nolan and Bale stay on board. Bale is the best of the bunch and as mentioned, he is convincing as all hell, especially when he's pissed off.
Just an overall GREAT movie. Also looking forward to Fantastic Four next month, which I think will be more comic-y than Batman, but this movie was just amazing.
