If Delgado is on fire and raises his team into the top 500 then all the players on his team are brought up with him into the ranking.

So if someone has 3 studs and then junk on his team you're going to find Trot Nixon in there at some point

I'm not so sure how accurate these "keys to success" are. I picked 6 out of 12 of these guys and I am currently in 4th place (4 points back) in a 10 team head to head league.

Currently in 4th, but I think my team is better than that. To me though, true league quality has more to do with what happens after the draft (waiver pickups, trades, substitutions, strategies, overall activity, etc.)

I see now that Keys to Success isn't really about the best sleepers, but rather, the most popular sleepers among the best fantasy players.

I think that is definitely true of Prior, Wilson, Wells, and Kearns. Very popular with experienced owners as sleeper pick.

Good topic though. A pretty decent way to compare leagues, and how well the league owners did selecting some key contibutors.



One name kind of surprised me, but I don't think he'll be there long. He stands out in his group:

Who knows what this tells us about league competitiveness or shrewdness of owners. I just like the idea of coming up with yet another way of quantifying fantasy baseball! Here's my league (it's a keeper league where we kept up to four players from last year, so I've estimated A Rod, Pujols, Delgado and Morris's pick position. I put A Rod as the 5th pick b/c his owner had the 5th pick in our draft this year, and I've assumed he would have taken A Rod with that pick.)

Average for the 11-team league: 57.08 (!) (Of course, it is a keeper league, so people in my league might be more willing to take a Wells, Kearns and Prior earlier than a non-keeper league).

And even though I'm not entirely convinced this is a good measure of league toughness, I sure feel better about being in 4th place! (I think by the end of the year I'll rise to 2nd - but our first place team is going to be tough to overtake.)
