The amount just paid by a collector for the contract that sent Babe Ruth from the Red Sox to the Yankees in 1919!

Saw that a couple of days ago. Pretty amazing what some stuff goes for, isn't it? I actually thought it would top a million though. Got close, but didn't break it.

I hadn't heard about that story. That's amazing to pay that much. 8-o I'm a collector of baseball memorabilia/items, but to pay almost $1M! 8-o Seems to me somebody has too much money! :-b

So does that mean the contract is worth ten times as much as Ruth himself? :-D

I am sure red sox fans would donate their houses if they can change that part of the history(selling him to Yankees)

Aw, the Babe has probably gone up in value too - I'm sure if someone dug him up and offered him on e-bay he'd fetch a pretty good price, lol!
