Why on EARTH isn't there a thread for Shawn Green?

after tonight, he's hit 5 homers in 5 games. his average has gone from a pedestrian .257 to a respectable .282 in the last 10, and he now looks like he's got a very reasonable shot at 30+ homers on the year.

this guy definition of HOT right now, and unless you're in a league with someone who has (like me ) stuck through his spectacularly mediocre opening, he could very well be on the waiver wire.

it may seem like the time to "buy low" on him is well past, but there's a chance that the green owner in your league will be trying to unload him right now (thinking he'll return to his april/may form) and sell him high during his hot streak. my advice would be to go ahead and try to get him anyways. he'll hit 25 more the rest of the way (IMO), and hit a solid .300 with decent pereferals, considering the lineup he's in. so if you can give less than that for him, i think you should give it a go.

green is and has always been a streaky player. he's in the middle of a hot streak, and he'll shurly come back down in the next few weeks, but he'll have another one or two or three of these streaks by the time the year is through, and you'll want him on your team for them.

After Garland started 5-0 or something, I traded Green and Garland to my best friend for Livan and Reyes (I needed a SS).

During that time, Green sucked and my friend dropped him. I picked him up Saturday night and have reaped the benefits since.

I started a thread about this after his 2-homer game over the weekend and got flamed for it!

I've been telling people to hold on to him all year.

I think I put together the all slow-starter team in one of my leagues this year (Wells, Chavez, Green... just need Huff to get going now).

good call. has anyone ever gone on a HR streak like Green before?

well, there is the hesop choi thread right next to this one (7 HR in like 6 games, i think).....

but i find the green streak more informative since he's hit 40 in a year before, and there's an outside chance he'll do so again this year. i just don't see choi coming close to that total.

I think there's a good chance that Choi will outproduce Green this year if he's given a substantial amount of PT. In a standard 5x5 league, you've gotta give the edge to Green though, you're right.

There is aways a part of every fantasy season when I wish Green was on my team.

I picked him up as a FA the day before he had his 2 HR game. Too bad I had him on my bench for that game. He's been starting since.
Some dumbo dropped him for Ellison.
