Only about 30 pitches and two innings? Is there a reason he departed so early.
Thanks

there was a rain delay. Peavy stayed in but Johnson didn't come back. Is he a baby? If one guy comes back then they both should. Although Peavy was rusty from the rain.

You never pitched in competitive baseball did you? Let me explain this for you. Once you get loose, then take the mound, pitch for a while, then stop (for a long delay), it can cause you to stiffen up and not get loose again. If you try to pitch like that it can cause you to possibly injure your shoulder or elbow. Peavy was able to get loose after the delay, Johnson wasnt. Its no slight against Johnson, its just that he probably couldnt loosen back up so they didnt throw him back out there. It makes sense and it happens all the time. The good news is that he will probably come back on three days rest and pitch this weekend.
