Everyday we see advirtisments for meds. This seems to inditace that pills are playing an important role in american health care. Is this the best direction for american health care? If yes, hoe will it continue to work? If no, why not and give other alternatives.

I'm not writing your paper for you. Do your own work.

The issue is not about politics, its about culture and reason.
American culture is about consumption and immediacy. Pills feed this. Look to distinguish between pills directed at pathogens and pills directed at conditions (ie, antibiotics vs. viagra).
Concerning good vs. bad, it depends who you ask. does a pill improve someone's quality of life? Does it take the place of another effort that may be equally of more effective, but less convenient? Is overuse worth the risk of creating mutated superbugs?
