Yeah, the Yankees and Mets were negotiating together with New York, both opting for new stadiums according to WFAN.
I think they said the Mets Stadium will also be used to lure the 2012 Olympics and Steinbrenner will allow the Mets to play in Yankee Stadium during the Olympic months should they get it...

Wow, I didn't even know the Mets had a new stadium. Doubly nice. Sad too, though. There's something to be said for Babe, Gehrig, Dimaggio, Berra, Mantle, and all the rest playing on the same field as Jeter, Mo and the others.
Huge Yankee fan here in NY and I really don't mind at all. They aren't going to move them out of the Bronx like previously threatened by King George, the park will be right across the street. Also while a truly historic place The Stadium defintely is a dinosaur and apparently the new park will be very similar to the original Yankee Stadium but will have more luxury boxes. Maybe structurally the current stadium can't be renovated to add more boxes, I'm not sure. Whatever the case may be I'd love a modern stadium, the team is staying where they belong and the new stadium will be very similar to the original. Plus it looks like the team will foot the entire bill for the stadium which teams almost never do.
Wow, they're reducing seats by 6,000. I guess they think there aren't enough Yankee fans out there.. pff. Expect to see some inventive seating arrangments by 2015, like what they do in Fenway.

Watch what you say...If NY gets the Olympics like they're talking about rumors have the Mets playing in Yankee Stadium while their stadium is built.
No other team should call such Yankee Stadium their Home
It's no a rumor. If NYC gets the Olympics the Mets will play at Yankee Stadium for the 2012 season. The Yankee played 2 full seasons at Shea (1974-75) when Yankees Stadium was renovated. 'Bout time those ingrates repaid the favor.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
