I've had quite a few sports related injuries the past few years, from tendonitis to a broken ankle. I would guess this is a stress fracture and the best thing to do is to rest it. Maybe grab some crutches for the next few days and keep the wait off. if its swollen, elevate it while studying. Just lay off the training until the winter and ease back into it. By then you should be fully recovered. Good luck!

Dude!! Your career is not over!! Get some crutches!!! Keep the weight off the leg!! Do not try to self diagnose!! Wait until a trained professional looks at it and does some x-rays or an MRI before you jump to conclusions!! Don't worry about it and put yourself through added stress at a time when you need to focus on finals.
