But if his off speeds are good, those are the pitches that generally get guys out, if he can keep a low 90's fastball and have consistently good off speed pitches then he should be fine. Changing speeds, as we know, is the most important part of pitching effectively, hence why Santana has become so dominant after he developed that killer change up.
