.290 13runs, 4HR, 11RBI in his last 69AB (last month) is not horrible ...... its not a fantasy impact player either.
Against righties: .300 27runs, 7HR, 20RBI (53 games) ... again, not great.... not horrible either.
To put in perspective a little better.
Giles .311 19R, 4HR, 14RBI in last 90ab (last month)
He's not the start everyday player we were hoping for, but is still a solid platoon option IMHO. If your in a situation where you can afford to only start him against righties, then he might be worth a grab.

He had Surgery on this elbow last October for bones spurs. He took a pitch on the Elbow on April 17 and has had problems throwing since. He rehurt his elbow last Wednesday playing 1B. He says it doesn't affect his swing at all. The monster shot he hit last night leads me to believe him. I think he will have some huge weeks in the near future. Hopefully not this week cuz I didn't start him.

Like I said yesterday. Until someone from the team says that his arm affects his swing, then I'm not buying any random speculation on how it could. He has not looked bad at the plate, and today he got to produce with the DH back in effect. Not only did he hit that huge bomb tonight, but that double he hit was a bullet off of the left field wall.

In the NFL players or teams themselves will not disclose certain injuries so that the opposition does not either take advantage of or further the injury more. I don't know if the exact parallel exists in baseball but I have read reports of certain players hiding injuries.
I watched Hafner hit against Seattle on Ichiro’s 262 hit celebration day. Got the bobble head sitting on my desk J I sat 14th row in between the Cleveland dugout and home. I had a pretty good look at both their swings. I’m no expert on evaluating a players swing but I can tell you that it looked more powerful than any player I saw bat that day, with the exception of Sexton. Pretty powerful whifs from both of them though. Hafner did single two rbi in the first didn’t look like he was seeing the ball for there on out. He didn't look injured to me.
I guess that's what I was trying to say, but didn't explicitly say it. He hasn't looked injured. At least it hasn't appeared to have affected his hitting. I agree with the idea of players hiding injuries, but in this case Hafner had been playing with these nagging injuries for a while now, so I didn't, and don't, see why it should become an issue because it hurts to throw. He's not throwing his bat at the ball.
