What are you most regrettable draft picks this year? Everyone likes to talk about the steals they got, what about the duds?
I picked Buerhle in the 6th, before Delgado, Sheffield, and Halladay.
Not a huge dud, but I picked Eli Marrero as my catcher with the 13th pick (out of 25), only to drop him in the second week.
None of the flyers I took in the last few rounds have done anything for me and no longer on my team: Cuddyer, Byrd (two supposed contenders for Rookies of the Year), and Lilly.
Toby Hall in the 19th round out of 21. I took Posada in the 5th round and we have 16 teams in that league. 6 or 7 of the owners were not present for the draft and had no catchers during the late rounds. I took Hall figuring I could trade him to one of the teams needing a catcher. I put him on the bench from day 1 and about 2 weeks later realized what a wasted pick he was.
In another league: Hoffman in round 20 of 24 and J.D.Drew in round 22. Dropped Drew when I needed a DL spot for Brian Giles. Just dropped Hoffman yesterday since it seems he's out for the year.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Lo Duca's been fine this year, although 7th round was too early to take him or probably any catcher. I have him on my team and I am not going to complain about a catcher that's hitting .328 right now.
Madison, if Toby Hall in round 19 was your WORST pick in a 16-team league, I'd hate to see how much you crushing everyone else by.
In my 16-team league, I've had some bad picks but my worst ones are Hinkse in round 6, Shannon Stewart in round 9, and Vizcaino in round 16. So far I'm just one point out of first though and that's without making any trades.
Last year, I had a pitching disaster when I took Brown in the 3rd and Kile in the 7th.
I picked Matsui as my second OF pick thinking he'd tear it up in HRs, RBI's and runs with a decent AVG. I was a genius in April. Now I just watch those RBI opps go by as he grounds out at just about every at bat. How did he ever get the ball over a wall in Japan? Here's to hoping May just sucked all the way around for all the Yankees and June is going to be a gem.
I am also a Buerhle victim. I picked him in round 7 before Clemens. I also picked Ramon Ortiz in r.16. lucked out though and picked up Oswalt for buerhle. Someone actually simply dropped oz...
