Since the beginning of May, he's hitting .290 with 8 HRs and 28 RBI.
That's right in line with the kind of value Chavez should be expected to deliver, and that's the kind of value that Chavez owners were expecting when they drafted him.
I'd say it's safe to say that he's back. It's not like this game came out of nowhere, he's been heating up for quite some time now...
Wasn't Chavez drafted in the 3rd round? Is that really 3rd round value?

That projects to .290 with 34 HRs, 118 RBIs over the season....
Whether or not that's 3rd round value is up for debate. The bottom line is those were reasonable numbers to expect from Chavez at the beginning of the year, and now he's meeting those expectations.

I got him in the 5th round, but .290 with 8 HRs and 28 RBI in about 40 games is about what you expect from Chavez.

I got him in the begining of the 6th round in my draft.
I'm not sure where some of you have been, but Chavez has been "back" for a couple weeks now. I traded for him for next to nothing when he was hitting .190. He is now helping my team move into 3rd place.
