With Guillen managing it wouldn't surprise me to see the peanut vender get a chance.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

It was only his first blown save.

i think his arm will tire. He's pitched alot of innings already. I doubt Shingo gets another shot at it. Marte is the sleeper here. If hermanson's arm really tanks the White Sox could be at the top of the list of teams trading for a closer. It's sell high time on hermanson if you ask me.

Come on, people! Closers blow saves. Even the best of them. Hermanson has been totally lights-out this year. This is his first blown save in 16 chances. Even though he's looked mediocre his past few innings, his ERA and WHIP are still closer-worthy. He'll have to do a lot more to lose the job than blow one save, especially given how Ozzie stuck with Shingo when he was getting rocked left and right.
I do agree, however, he could use some rest. He's been throwing a lot of innings and that always catches up to a closer.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

can't really compare to when he was starting. He's throwing less pitches but is throwing harder multiple times a week as opposed to once or twice a week. It's the frequency of use that will wear on a closers arm & not # of pitches. All the more reason to watch the situation closely, hermanson is not used to this many appearences. Don't get me wrong, the guy has done a phenomenal job, it just seems like the white sox have leaned awfully hard on him over the last month or so.

Guillen had said he ws going to give hm some rest a couple of weeks ago. I don't think that happened. Yes they do blow saves and give up runs. They aren't perfect. He keeps his job.

It was probably sell high time during his scoreless streak. I found that not many were buying into him, though. I wanted to deal him for Street and R. Wagner but got that turned down.
Damaso Marte is hurt, though. Ozzie isn't exactly thrilled that he had a sore bicep and didn't tell him. That may explain why Marte's WHIP has been horribly mediocre this year. It may also be because he's a pitcher that tries to make tough pitches and is just flat out missing right now. He's walking a good number.
