yeah i dunno. he's been riding my bench all year, but it'll be hard for him to break out if he isn't playing... i don't think he's hurt, but that's just speculation

Nothing has been said at all, so I don't think he is hurt. Well I take that back, maybe his pride is hurt since he has sucked it up all year and can't even start now. ;-) ;-7

Things aren't looking good on the Austin Kearns front. Being drafted ahead of Adam Dunn may very well become his biggest claim to fame.

Kearns is definately droppable in yearly formats with fewer than fourteen teams, but keep a close eye on him. He still has keeper value (he's only 25). I'd give him another year or two in dynasty leagues too.

If the Reds trade Casey, Dunn could move back to first, opening up a spot for Kearns in the OF again - which he could earn if he is a matchups guy from here on out. The Kid's legs will have a lot to do with Kearn's value for the rest of 2005 too.

El bencho. He's a fourth OF on this team. Pena belongs in the everyday lineup and that makes Kearns a utility OF. He might see a little more PT next week since the Reds will be visiting the AL ballparks.

Correction...he'll see a little more PT in the minors.

Drop him if you have him and it's not an extremely deep league. Barring a trade or injury, he'll be lucky to get 2 or 3 starts a week from here on out.

Terrible player - only has value in keeper leagues right now.

I HOPE he gets traded. The only way he's going to get better and start putting up some decent numbers is if he gets a brand new start. Please trade him Cincy!
