Sure, Ryan is doing great, but does anyone notice that he's actually doing BETTER against righties than lefties this year?

1.01 WHIP against righties.
1.11 WHIP against lefties.

Did you guys see THAT coming? Cuz I sure didn't.

yeah. his dominance of righties is what seals his dominance. i was apprehensive because the numbers he put up last year, while dominant, were primarily against lefties. i was unsure about how he would fair once he had to face people from both sides consistantly. he only sliped to me at the level i was willing to take him in one of my leagues. >_<

oh well. at least i got c. cordero in all of them. ;-D

I certainly didn't see it coming, but I'm not surprised by it. The righties Ryan faced as a LOOGY were often the best righthanded hitter off the bench, so typically a pretty good hitter. As a closer now he faces the full range of RH hitters, so lots of SS, C, and others who can't hit anybody, much less Ryan.

I drafted him in the 17th round (7-team 5x5 roto). I 'settled' for him because Lidge was drafted in the 5th ;-D ;-D ;-D

Ryan is just str8 sick. Leads all major league relievers in strikeouts (those who haven't started games - i.e. Dempster).
