burnett. the wins will come. like everyone has already said, myers' sample size is still too small to compare to burnett's seasoned track record of being a solid fantasy starter.

I'll take Myers all day, every day. He's a dominant pitcher on a bigtime run producing team and doesn't have anything close to the injury history or poor mechanics that Burnett does. I like AJ, don't get me wrong and I think this is a contract year for him but I think picking Burnett over Myers right now sighting his track record or being a more proven pitcher is ridiculous. The only thing Burnett has proven to me is he is another arm injury waiting to happen. He's had injuries the last 2 years after a decent season in 2002. To me, that's far from a proven track record.

Proven track record argument IMO is out the window.
Bad luck for Burnett? Same for Myers this year, check his Game Log.
Stuff? Yeah Burnett throws a little harder but Myers has the strikeout stuff as well.
Team? Phills score just as many runs as the Marlins, if not more.
Park? Advantage Burnett but nothing to get excited about, they pitch on the road just as often.
Injury history? That's the deal breaker for me.

Give me Myers.

Personally - I think those concerned with Burnett's injury history dont fully understand the role of Tommy John surgery in baseball. After taking a yr and a half to 2 years to recover from the surgery - as Burnett did - most TJ recipients report a stronger arm and fewer injuries than before.

I have the utmost confidence in pitchers who have had TJ surgery and rehab. Rarely do I consider them more of an injury risk than others.

Basically to me Burnett by a whole lot over Myers.

I think this is an interesting comparison and certainly worth revisiting in September. Kind of like me laughing at the posters who told me to pick Wilkerson instead of Konerko this year. NICE MOVE GUYS

Myers barely over Burnett. I think he this years sheets.

I don't know how you can compare 05 Myers with 04 Sheets. Sheets issued 32 BB the entire season while K'ing 264 in 233 IP.

Myers is having an awesome season thus far for sure but those long balls are going to start really hurting him.

BTW, I think Myers/Burnett are closer than people are saying. I'd take Burnett by a hair just b/c Myers may fall off at some point.
