Huston Street = this year's Brad Lidge?

Street's been darn impressive lately in the closer role. His nasty slider reminds me a lot of Brad Lidge. I know Street probably won't match Lidge's numbers from last season but he could easily become an elite closer for next year's draft much like Lidge did.
This field, this game, it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh people will come Ray, people will most definitely come.

This year's Brad Lidge is BJ Ryan.

That man throws cheddar.

Well considering I just drafted Street in a mid-season league, I hope he's the next lidge!

Though I dont think he will be that good, I expect an ERA under 3 and an ample amount of K's.

Each year when people are grabbing closers in upper mid rounds of the draft I wait until the late rounds and grab the Troy P, Batistas, Wickmans etc...I always know that there will be closers coming out of nowhere that will do great. Street is that guy this year.

I count myself lucky to have nabbed him first in both my leagues.

I've added him, Myers FA, BJ Ryan (via trade for Hildalgo), and Dempster FA.

Not too shabby. I'm in first of 20.

street has the stuff to be an elite closer, but unfortunately oakland won't win enough games for him to get a lot of saves. they're falling short of the 26-1 june i predicted for them :-D
