Yahoo private league, 10-teams, mixed AL/NL.

C Jorge Posada
1B Carlos Delgado
2B Ray Durham
SS Orlando Cabrera
3B Hank Blalock
OF Barry Bonds
OF Ryan Klesko
OF Melvin Mora
UT Edgar Martinez
Be Raul Mondesi
Be Aubrey Huff

SP Mike Mussina
SP Roy Oswalt
SP David Wells
SP Bartolo Colon
SP Mark Buerhle
SP Jose Contreras
RP Troy Percival (disabled)
RP Tim Worrell
RP Mike MacDougal
RP Brendan Donnelly
RP Matt Herges

Only 8 players from the original draft remain on my staff. I picked up MacDougal, Worrel, Cabrera, Blalock, and Mondesi from waivers right before the season started and I couldn't be happier. I later picked up Edgar Martinez, Melvin Mora, Donnelly, and Herges from the FA pool. I also traded Thome for Huff and Delgado via 3-way trade last week. More recently, I just picked up Buerhle and Contreras yesterday. So far I've made about 40 moves/trades and now I feel I've settled into the team that I'm fairly happy with. I'd like some feedback as to where my weaknesses are and what I could do about them. I just tried to trade Martinez and Cabrera for Jeter but it fell through. Can't say I'm that disappointed though.

Players that I've dropped:
Eric Hinske
David Eckstein
Dan Erstad
Jeff Weaver
Brad Wilkerson
A. Gonzalez
Kip Wells
Jacque Jones
Steve Sparks
Scott Stewart
Antonio Alfonseca

Great looking Offense.

I would keep trying to improve the Pitching though. It has some promise, but you will need to make a few more changes I think.

A's have some good pitchers that will be called up in the 2nd half that will be worth noting.

I think your offense looks pretty solid. Granted you would rather have some more consistent and experienced IFs at SS and 3b, but overall you look good offensively. The big problem spot is your pitching. Specifically your starters. You can get by in a league with the rp you have, but I would scour the waiver wire for more pitching. Buerhle and Contreras are not the answer, and hope that Oswalt gets it together.

Thanks for the input. I suppose I can pick up Kip Wells or Ben Sheets fromt the FA pool. Estes is also available but there's not much else out there. As you can see, I like to gamble so I went with Buerhle and Contreras.

Funny thing is I'm leading the league in WHIP and ERA with this staff. With Oswalt off the DL I expect things to get better. Hopefully Contreras won't implode...again.
