Guardado is one of the better closers on the trade market right now. If he gets dealt to be a closer for a contender, a now-healthy Everyday Eddie's Fantasy value will rocket.

I think it would be Putz.

Why would his value rocket? He is pretty valuable right now and I'm not convinced going to a contending team would increase it.

IMO, Putz should/ would get the first shot and depending on how he does, it could also turn into a commitee with Putz, Hasegawa ,Mateo and even Raffy Soriano in the mix.

Putz has not pitched very well in late innings situations this year (gave up a few bombs that were not earned runs) so he would have to start pitching a whole lot better for him to get the role outright.

I would prefer Foulke in set-up, listening to him on WEEI makes me think he doesn't have the closer mentality and would be perfect in set up.

Well, Foulke is a proven commodity. He has closed and closed well with great stats to back it up for many years now. I think he may be injured a bit this year and that's the reason for the decreased velocity.

But you can't discount what the guy has done- led a team to the World Series Title and basically won the series MVP as THE CLOSER!!

As a lefty, it is quite likely that Guardado is a set-up guy if he gets traded.
