Check his numbers, his BA and SLG have dropped pretty significantly the past 3 years. I believe that was the point of the original question, not guys who are DOA right now. Throw the injury issues on top of his declining numbers and Chipper's a prime example of a declining superstar who will never hit 35-40 HR again.

I'm not sure whether you mean guys who are getting worse and aren't worth the effort or guys who are declining but are still worth having around assuming you have tempered expectations. I guess Piazza, Giles, and Chipper might all qualify under the first category, but certainly not the second. And putting Chipper in there is rough- he's been killing the ball when he's played.
