I've been chasing the Rays

For a week I have been picking up players who are playing against TB, and then dropping them, for players on the next team TB plays. Today I am dropping Randa, Casey. and Lopez, and picking up Ward, Mackowiak, and M. Redman. In one league this stategy has moved me to one point behind 1st place from 8th place in one week.

It's a good strategy. You could do it for the Rox or Royals too.

I just picked up Glavine yesterday for his start against the Astros tonight. If it works, I might make a strategy out of that sort of thing.

So far tonight (5th) Freel, Randa, and Casey are 4/6 3R 5RBI & 3SBs. I'll see the Rays in Pittsburgh tommorow night with Ward, Mackowiak, and M. Redman.

Nice deal, but you have to be in a pretty shallow league to be able to work this strategy.

Still, even in a deeper league there's sometimes one player with a favorable series matchup forthcoming that one might be able to grab from the FA pool while not having to drop anyone particularly worthwhile.
