I was surprised to see that Dallas McPherson is still only 20% owned in SI leagues. Talk about a "sleeper" 3B. Everyone gave up on him. He's at .330 the past three weeks and has found his power stroke -- I think 4 HRs over that period. Average is up to .250. A few hot streaks here and there and you have a perspective ROY, as many projected.

I'm not sure if the original poster was joking, but if not, what awful reasoning.

That reasoning is almost as specious as saying Aaron Hill is a "tank". Sure he can hit .300 as an upside but the guy has only 15 HRs in 700+ minor league ABs and no SB capability. He may develop a power stroke at some point, but for this season he is virtually useless unless we are talking a really deep league.

I'll agree with the original poster here and say that Boone has looked much better at the plate as of late. Earlier in the year he couldn't hit anything with a wrinkle to save his life, and tried to pull everything. Probably around the time when Cleveland was in Minnesota he started looking a little better at the plate (maybe not getting lots of hits, but better looking). Right now he's starting to go to right with pitches away, and he's making contact with breaking pitches more often. I didn't get to watch today's game, but last night his 2 HR's were no-doubters, and that's pretty good for PETCO. I'm not saying that he's going to go on a huge tear, but I don't think it's quite as riduculous of an idea as the rest of you guys.

Boone's real value was SB's and 20+ HR's, when he had his breakout years. Since he obviously can't swipe 30+ anymore, he has little value in a mixed league.

i think boone will bounce back and perform like the hitter he actually is, but at the same time, if he doesn't steal, he won't be worth the position i drafted him in.

i'd take boone of mcphearson, marte, and hill the rest of the way.
