He's not playing tonight and I've read that he has a hyperextended left knee. How serious of an injury is that? Also should I try and trade him if I can to another owner who may not know of his injury?

Apparently, it was reported that he did take BP, so it's probably not serious. It would be very unethical and borderline cheating to try to trade an injured player, hoping that the other owner doesn't know about it. You just have to wait to see how bad the injury is and it probably won't be a big deal, but if he does go down, it's just a risk of the game.
