Given all the hype lately, put me down for Dan Johnson in the AL and Weeks in the NL.

Right now, I'd go with D. Lee and Tejada.

At the end of the season, I think it'll be Pujols and Tejada, provided for the latter that the O's stay in the race most of the year.

While your team doesn't have to win, if they perform greater than expected, then that seems to have a strong influence even if you don't have the best statistics (see Pendleton in 1991).

Darkhorse - B. Roberts and Abreu.

AL- Tejada. Not just his numbers on offense.. the guy plays everyday, gives 110% on every play. Plays great defense. And is the team leader. He makes everyone around him better. 2nd place will be D. Ortiz.

NL-Pujols. Many have said it and I agree.. Pujols should have won it already but because of Bonds he just couldn't quite get there. Bonds out of the way it Pujols's to lose. I don't think D.Lee will win because many of those that vote like to give the award to someone who consistently puts up the big numbers. Lee is having a breakout year no doubt. If he can duplicate it next year than he'll get more votes next year. But Pujols has been doing this for 4 years now. It's time he got the award he deserves. 2nd place will be D.Lee or B.Abreu.

assuming he keeps close to the same pace and if the phillies make the playoffs there's a strong chance abreu could win it in the NL. otherwise i'd say pujols. i highly doubt lee will win it, mostly because i don't think he will keep it up. in the AL it could be tejada or tex, if one of their teams makes the playoffs. it won't be a-rod unless he finishes with monster numbers and the yankees turn it around, and even then... hard to say at this point though for either league. i think it'll be close in both leagues, which is why where the team ends up could push one or the other over the edge.

i can almost say for certain that roberts won't even be in the main consideration... but now that i said that watch him get hot again for like 3 months and show me up
