Who would you take as your catcher in place of Piazza?

PLease rank for me, I think Piazza is out for the season. He has a long road ahead of him with an injury like his.

I'm liking Wilson's 4 hr's in 80 at-bats. His hr to hit ratio is 1 every five hits....

anyone, any opinions? Do you at least think Piazza is done for the season. I know there is speculation about playing first when he comes back but his injury is very serious. Even after his groin heals in maybe eight weeks, he will have to regain stregnth in his legs which could take another 3-4 weeks. Not to mention still having much to learn about first base. So would you rather have a mediocre catcher during the next 2 months or wait and have Piazza for maybe a month?

I'd be inclined to go with both Blue Jays catchers if you have enough space and play them aainst the matchups - one starts against lefties, one starts against righties but I'm not sure which is which. If you only have one spot open take Toby Hall. The best thing would have been to jump all over Javier Lopez (Atlanta Braves) as soon as Piazza went down, which is what I did. I'm not missing Piazza one bit right now!!!!

I agree that taking the two Jays catchers is a good idea if you can use two roster spots on catchers, because they are just providing ridiculous production. Myers starts against righties, Wilson against lefties.

If you can't use two roster spots, I'd go for Hall, because he is a better offensive producer than Matheny or Perez when he gets going, and he gets plenty of playing time.

Hall went 4 for 4 tonight with a HR and last year he did very well after the all star break. i would be inclined to go with him and Myers

What about Phillips 1B/C(NYM) ... He is playing Fisrt Base almost daily and backing up at C when Wilson rests. And he will get his elig. at Catcher in Yahoo very soon ... He will start more than most catchers and has a very good bat .. I already have him alongside IROD in one league where he has Elig..
