i don't think just because someone has WHIR on their post doesn't mean that they'll ONLY help when others help first.
i'm pretty much too addicted to fantasy sports to stay away from this website and offer advice even when i got nothing of my own that needs to be answered. but when i do ask a question, i know i'm going to get more responses if i put that on there, so that's why i do it.
The problem is, of course, that many people that claim they will help in return is that they simply don't. I used to answer almost every question in the rate my team forum until I realized that my queries got 1-2 responses. It was frustrating. So now I don't help nobody with nothing.

Yes, but often the only way of getting a response to a question that doesnt have a cut-and-dry answer is through offering reward. Too many times have I answered the latest 15 questions, then posted my question, and seen it sink to the bottom with 25 views and 0 replies.
I use WHIR as an attention getter, and it's quite funny when the majority of people who post in my thread and leave a link have already had their question answered by me by choice.

And do you know what kind of "help" you usually get from those people?
