Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
It's my least favorite acronym on this site. "Will Help In Return" is someone's way of saying that they are so selfish that they will only help people who first do something for them. This is opposed to the concept of simply going out and offering advice to others and then hoping or asking for the same in return.

I agree with this concept generally, but in practice adding something like WHIR or 'leave a link' in the trade forum will often produce more responses. Since when I post there I'm looking for as much advice as possible, I've started to add something like 'leave a link'. That's not to say that I won't help others - I usually answer people's posts there and I rarely have any questions of my own posted.
What annoys me more is people who post thier own questions, but NEVER answer anyone else's posts, they just sit and wait for responses to theirs. I don't think an answer to a post should be conditional on anything, but also don't appreciate these 'free riders' who don't contribute.

I agree. I put it on because it will genertae more responses and often without it you get few. But I do take the time to answer a lot of pople who have few to no responses. In a forum, if a thread has few responses, I make a point of answering that one. i tend to stay away from ones with 10+ responses.
