this is just really becoming ridiculous.
Chipper Jones said tonight than an MRI showed a partial ligament tear and a severe bone bruise in the foot. He'll miss at least three to four weeks and he may undergo surgery.
Jones will meet with a specialist tomorrow. ''I'm going to ask a bunch of questions,'' he said. ''If he tells me it will heal itself as long as I keep it immobile for three or four weeks, that I will come back OK and not have any pain, I'd much rather go that route.'' If Jones undergoes surgery, we have to figure he'd probably be out until at least August.

Ouch. Looks like Atlanta's GM better start making some calls. They need a bat and bullpen help badly.

I agree, but wonder whether the Braves have the pitching prospects the Rays would demand in return. Anthony Lerew is an impressive prospect currently at AA, but I think Atlanta would have to include Davies in a deal with this team.

Davies is untouchable. Its been mentioned by JS already.
I wouldn't be too shocked to see the Braves play the kids from here on out. Imagine a lineup like so....
R.Furcal
A.Marte
M.Giles
A.LaRoche
A.Jones
K.Johnson
R.Langerhans
With Francouer waiting in the wings for 06.
I'd love to see us rebuild in this way. Forget about the streak, we need to plan for the future instead of trying to ride has-beens like Jordan. That team is capable of winning the whole damn lot within 5 years and could dominate for many more.
Rate my team, leave me a link!
