Always new this guy was a decent average hitter, but after I picked him up on waivers I looked a bit more into his stats. I noticed in 1996 with the expos he stole 33 bases and then 25 in 1997. Any Cardinals homers know if this guy has good speed or not? I know he had an achilles problem, but I"m assuming it's ok now. Any additional info on his speed would be great!

He has only stolen in double digits twice since then. I don't consider him a SB threat. He didn't steal much with the cubbies.

That steal today was retaliatory in nature than anything.

He may break double digits, but I wouldn't be expecting much more than that. Like reznorsboy said, he hasn't been known as a real SB threat in the last 5-6 years.
