Mets sign Graves

I really hope that they lean more on Heilman and boot Aybar to make room for Graves. I'd hate it if Heilman gets sent back to the minors because of Graves.

I love the NYFS headline: "Mets dig Graves" :-D

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Seems like a smart move to me. They are paying him diddly. Pitch him in junk time and if he turns it around you get excellent value, if not, who cares?

It's a good move. They don't have much to lose and Graves is not as bad as everyone is making him out to be. While I don't think he will be a good option in close games, there is a chance that he puts it together.

I never thought Looper was in danger of losing his job. I guess the fantasy geeks have been throwing the idea around even before the season but Looper has been pretty effective and I can't imagine why the Mets would be actively seeking to replace him. They have other problems that need to be addressed like 1B and 2B.
