dude, graves is wretched. i'm talking peace-poor & dung-dirty wretched. his primary pitch is a sinker that won't sink. he will hurt the mets any time he pitches.

i wish i could get paid that kind of money to stink consistently. dang.

I think that's why the Mets took the gamble. If Graves works out he replaces Dejean and becomes Looper's SU man. What are the chances of Peterson helping Graves bounce back? Got me. Hoping for the best. :-o

I figured Graves would just sit back and collect his money this year. I guess he wants to play

At least Looper can breathe easy now.

I mean if it were Urbina, or Julio...

Interesting signing. We'll see. I'm not overly optimistic, but can he really be any worse than the lousy Mets pen already?

I'm neutral about this move. He could provide good help and if he doesn't, so what. He's makin chump change.

And pokerplaya, the Mets pen is not as lousy as you think. Bell, Heilman, Hernandez, Looper, and hopefully Ring are solid.

Yea the bullpen gets hounded unfairly. They have a 3.83 ERA and are #2 in the MLB (78.5%) with IR.

$300,000 league minimum and $500,000 buyout on his $5 million option for next year. Low risk and hopefully/possibly high reward.

Hernandez has been great, and Looper is underrated and has been solid. Other than that though, I don't have much faith in the pen (being a life long Mets fan, I've seen my fair share of good and bad bullpens). I suppose I am being a little pessimistic, but we will see where the Mets pen stands at the end of the season.
