Mets sign Graves

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I can't believe the Mets are giving up on the season already. :-D

My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

Looks like he'll be in the minors for a week or two.

The one thing that makes me feel better about this is that the Braves (and Marlins to a lesser degree) went after him hard.

Probably cause Graves is the only pitcher who would make Kolb look good.

I'm happy with the signing. I have always liked Graves ability and you can never have too many relief pitchers. And we're only paying the pro-rated amount of the minimum salary, anyway. It can't hurt.

I do hope you're right. But I can see it hurting a lot if (when) he blows his first 4-run lead in the 7th inning. :-o
