I think so unless something strange happens and he flops at the MLB level. The Braves will have an interesting choice on their hands unless Larry changes his mind and decides he wants to play in the OF. Jones is signed through '08. '07 and '08 are option years but according to Dugout Dollars they vest at 450 PA on the previous year which seems pretty easily attainable to me.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

He will get the starting job if Chipper moves back to the outfield or he gets hurt with the young good OF with Langerhans and AJ Jordan as well the braves have now i think Marte will stay a backup Chipper has a long term contract so he won't be going anywhere unless the braves trade him which I don't see happening. The braves called him up to replace the injured Chipper

I think by the start of 2006, Marte is starting in Atlanta. And, until Chipper leaves, I think it'll be in the OF. When Chipper leaves, they'll put Marte back at 3rd.

Langerhans is more of a 4th OF, and even if Kelly Johnson is a starting caliber OF, they have Francoeur to take over in RF.

In 3 years, it would not surprise me to see an OF of Johnson, A. Jones (or Langerhans) and Francoeur, with Marte at 3B. Until then, I could easily see Marte in LF. Regardless, he should be full-time in 2006.

I dont see Chipper going anywhere from 3B until he physically cant play there, or atleast for as long as he is playing for the Braves.
