So I was up 9-1 going into today. K, ERA, and WHIP were all still in question... so I started Halsey and Ollie. I thought I'd lost both ratios after Halsey... but Jason came to my rescue (pitching for my opponent). I ended up winning 9-1 afterall.
Anywho, the point to this story is... do you think Schmidt is ever going to return to 02-04 form? He could at least claim injury earlier in the year... now he's just sucking.
Help please:

Harden- 2.15 ERA, 7.61 K/9
Peavy - 2.89 ERA, 10.10 K/9

Nobody really knows whats up. But whatever it was before his DL stint, it likely still is. He must either be concealing an injury or have dead arm from all the innings he pitched the last few years. You don't just forget how to pitch when you were as good as he was.
Anyone see his velocity from this start tonight?

He was right around 92-93.
His pitches didn't look as live as normal either...
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

I can tell you exactly what’s wrong with him: arm fatigue.
I think he’s in a very similar situation to what Halladay was in last season. The Giants need to shut him down for the rest of the year but of course, that won’t happen.

I was just thinking the same thing as i read through this topic. i owned halladay last year and own schmidt this year, and the news/updates are extremely similar.

I have been watching baseball for 60 years. Sometimes I see a player who has much better results than it seems he should. Jason is at the top of the list in my eyes. For the last several years his results have exceeded his skills IMO. I'm not saying he's a bum but, I never considered drafting him at the level he has been drafted. This spring I put him on my pre-draft exclude list, in part due to the Giants lousy offense.

I road Schmidt to a championship last year. I only have him in one league and I have Peavy as well so I guess I just won't start him anymore unless things change.
