I think that's what some people overlook. As poorly as he has performed at times this year, they acquired him to be the final piece that will *hopefully* put them over the top.

I would go for something higher than Sweeney, mainly because during the season you can pick someone up off the WW who's performing at Sweeney's level (maybe not for the rest of the season, but a scrub hot 1B can do what Sweeney does for a couple weeks.)
If you really want to trade Mulder then... wait. Wait for him to put a good start together, and then shop him;

I was actually considering dropping him outright. I feel like I can get better value from spot-starting WW pitchers (Santos, Contreras, Silva) than I can from Mulder for the rest of the year. Can I do this and get away with it in a 10-team 5x5 H2H league? Here's my staff:
Jeremy Bonderman, Det
Adam Eaton, SD
Chris Capuano, Mil
Mark Mulder, StL
John Patterson, Was
Aaron Harang, Cin
Yhency Brazoban, LA
Huston Street, Oak
Ryan Dempster, ChC
Joe Nathan, Min
Derrick Turnbow, Mil

I was talking about trading Sweeney FOR Mulder. What would you do then?

Mulder seems to pitch better when the cards are doing better. Personally, I think the Cardinals are gonna tear it up till the post season (and there too!) but if you have your reservations about Mulder then Ramst is absolutely right, he'd be easy to sell high.
