I agree that Kent makes a better fantasy 2B then 1B on the whole position scarcity argument, but this doesn't lessen the value of gaining an extra position.
In the case of an injury to your 1B, I don't necessarily think that better backup 1B will be sitting out on the WW then backup 2B. It all really depends on who is hot, and who is available. I'd rather be grabbing Felipe Lopez right now than Palmeiro or Broussard.
Moreover, based on his numbers up to now, Kent would not make a bad fantasy 1B -- how many 1B have better numbers than his .270/11/40/38? Probably Lee, Pujols, Tex and Ortiz.
Plus, if a team has Kent along with another strong 2B (like Roberts), adding another place for one to play only helps a lineup.
This is apparently his 3rd game playing 1B (and second start) so maybe he will get the eligibilty.
Anyways, just brought the whole thing up because I found it interesting.

The best thing about it would be the added flexibility for setting your roster for the day... depending on the positions in your league, (and him getting the eligibility) you could have him playing at 1B,2B,CI,MI,UT and that comes in real handy on travel days having other options then just Util. especially in H2H leagues where there are no max games played. This is why guys like Figgins and Feliz are great, because you can plug them in just about anywhere so you don't have them rotting on a bench on Thurs. when you have 5 open positions but your primary guy has a game too. For roto games you can also use that flex. to balance out your games played by pos. and play them in a different postion because your team is +4 in 2B but -4 in 1B. Just one more tool in your arsenal is all.

Well, there's one thing I'm sure everybody will agree with. It sure doesn't hurt.
