Is he going to PLAY? Last time with interleague he was benched a lot, but now he's looking a little better. What's the story?

Reports say that he has been taking grounders at 1B. So I expect him to be playing the interleague games.

I don't see the Indians sitting Broussard - he's been hitting the ball well (2HR and a .292 avg this week) and is a good defensive 1B.

Maybe Hafner will get one game in (hasn't played ny 1B this year) against a righty, but I'd actually expect him coming off the bench.

Did those reports say whether he was actually catching any of those grounders? His defensive inadequacies will ensure that he is a very poor play when there is no DH. I wouldn't risk playing him this week.

so hafner is so awful at 1b that he's not really a consideration by the indians to play in interleague?

Yes, the Injuns have Broussard(sp) at 1B who isn't a handicap at the plate and can field his position. Hafner will probably be used in pinch-hitting roles only during interleague play. IMO.

Ugh. I totally dropped the ball on this one. I forgot all about it and started him in my weekly league. Hopefully it works out for the best. :-[

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
