I've heard that he's got the flu and his start is being pushed back, but I go to yahoo and they have him and Zambrana listed as the starters today. Anyone know what's going on?
This field, this game, it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh people will come Ray, people will most definitely come.
News: Padres ace Jake Peavy, the 2004 major league ERA champion, will miss his scheduled start on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs because of an upper respiratory infection that's been making its way through the clubhouse. "He wasn't far off from pneumonia," assistant trainer Jim Daniel said before Saturday night's game. Although X-rays showed his lungs were clear, the 24-year-old right-hander said he was treated as if he had pneumonia.
Analysis: Peavy, who had a 2.27 ERA last year, had been scheduled to start against Carlos Zambrano in the series finale. He's now scheduled to start Wednesday night at home against Cleveland. Woody Williams will start in his place.
I'm down by around 50 in a pts weekly H2H league going into today - I needed Peavy's start. Buehrle and Carlos Silva (vs the Yanks ) need to pitch absolute gems for me to win in Peavy's absence.
His flu/virus seems to be affecting lots of Padres. Good for Zambrano I hope.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
