In my Yahoo league, I'm noticing a ton of activity on this guy on the buzz list over the past few days. I can't figure it out, since his stats still look kinda shoddy. Has there been some revelation about this guy that I'm not privy to? Should I think about picking him up, since he's still a free agent in my league.

He's been on a tear the last few games, although that hasn't yet brought up his average too much.

his average is 100 points higher in May than in April, and he's the most hyped prospect since Adam Dunn and Mark Prior, so people have itchy trigger fingers for picking him up, since they are understandably worried that they could miss out big if he goes on a big tear for the rest of the season on someone else's roster.

Hey Leiter,
Would you mind giving a link to your league for the buzz list, or would you prefer not to? I always liked checking that out last yr.

in addition to the above mentioned reasons, there is a lot of interest in him because he is eligible at 3B and quality 3B's are hard to find. he is also 1B eligible and will get outfield eligibility before too long.

How is getting one hit per game and staying at a steady .235 batting average being "on a tear"????

Over the last month (23 games) he's been hitting .282 3hr 18 rbi still not exactly great but before you question someones statement at least make sure you have your facts right. Besides over that stretch he is outperforming Hillebrand and Chavez.
