Having watched him play many times over the past two years I can say one thing. If you need HOMERS he will hit a ton!

RAW POWER is what he is all about. He tore up in spring training as well if you don't remember. In only 25 atbats he hit 5 homers and had a 1.08 slugging %.

Wasn't the Pirates C of the future House before he got injured in Spring Training?

Being a Pirates fan, I don't see why everyone thinks they suck. 3 games below 500 is far from the cries of the lowly Rockies, D-rays, Royals and Reds. Guess it's a lack of star power.

House is out of the picture and as far I know he is out of Baseball.

The future catcher for the pirates is Neil Walker who is in Low Single A right now.

PH Ground-out in the 7th - lets see if he stays in - and if he does where he'll play

*edit* no fielding duty for him, he's done for the day
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

Stewie : [watching a baseball game] Why does that man drop his club before he runs? I would bring it with me!

Yeah, who knows what he'll do...Mac said C/OF/DH for the next weeks. The fact that we already have 2 other C's (Ross - who always catches Redman and Cota - who always catches Perez), then I doubt he will play much...maybe 1 time a week at C.

OF...They'll have to plug him in between Mackowiak who has been killing the ball, Tike Redman, and Restovich. Lawton and Bay are every day guys.

That leaves DH, which they could and should do. But, you only play interleague for so long.

My money is that Wigginton comes back up after the interleague series unless Doumit does something with the very few at bats he gets...which is dumb because they won't even give the kid a chance to get into a rhythm. :-t

And yeah...the Pirates have way too many C's and no 3B. :-B

Play? yes. But he won't be their starter for a while. He might play some DH in interleague play, but remember they still have Cota and Ross in front of him for the C position.
