Wigginton was sent down yesterday and in his place Stud Catching Prospect Ryan Doumit was called.. He has been absolutely killing AAA pitching. In most leagues he will be eligible at C and in some leagues in addition to being eligible at C he will qualify in the OF. I recommend teams in need of catching pick him up ASAP!
I don't see where he will play in the OF or at Catcher, it seems to me that he is only getting a short term flavor for the bigs during intraleague play while there is the DH. But there are no everyday positions for him.
I have to wonder where he'll play mostly. Will he replace the offensively-challenged Humbert Cota at C, steal time from Restovich in the OF, platoon with Daryle Ward at 1B? As someone mentioned, the few games where he can DH solves that problem, but other than that you wouldn't think they'd call him up to sit the bench.

Remember these are the Pirates we're talking about. Common sense says that you stick someone like this in the lineup at once, but McLendon is also the one that kept Tike Redmond in the lineup for almost 2 months

The Pirates recalled catcher-outfielder Ryan Doumit from their top farm club. A second-round draft pick in 1999, he has emerged as one of the Pirates' top prospects with a .344 average, 12 homers and 35 RBI at Triple-A Indianapolis.
