I don't see anything wrong with the article. It expresses understandable distress due to occurrances in Cincinnati sports. It's good to hear something from a fan and not somebody closely involved with the game, such as a player or sportswriter. This is coming from somebody who is just a spectator in the sports world.
Basically, what he's saying about Graves is that he's earned the right to be able to stick around in Cincinnati and attempt to work through the troubles (let's face it...Cincy isn't the Big Red Machine anymore). They didn't give him a shot at all and were probably relieved that he flicked a fan off because it gave them an excuse to just dump him.
What's even more ridiculous is that Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey, Jr. got their clubhouse massage chairs taken away.

Seriously though, Miley is not doing a good job of staying on the players' side.
