When Helton and Chavez start playing...which they are about to, it's possible to make up the deficit. When Rolen and Mags both get healthy, people are going to be watching their back for your team. If it wasn't for the DL, you'd probably be close to tops.
I agree, I think this squad is in trouble. I would loo to make some moves. Hang onto Oswalt. See what offense you can get for the rest of your SPs and then look to spot start waiver wire pick-ups the rest of the year (You might want to look at Talentedmrroto.com for waiver wire starters.
With the team you have now I really don't see you making up the deficit.

Your telling me that Huff, Helton, Rolen, Chavez, Drew, Renteria and Wells isn't enough offence to carry me through? Three of those have started to turn it around already, Chavez is slowly getting there despite the weak supporting cast and Rolen will be back in plenty of time to make a real difference. As for Helton, I look to history as evidence not 2 months worth of stats......
I'm already in 6th, so I don't see the playoffs being much of a hard target. 1st, I have to agree, is out of reach.

I guess you already had the answer to your questions and really didn't need to post it on the message. (though I still don't think your team is good enough to make up the deficit as is.) Good luck to you though.
Its still a very long season. Your pitching staff is solid and you have alot of big names that haven't lived up to par yet. I would try and make a few deals and buy low on a few players while trading your overvalued players. Hang on. I have Wells, Renteria, Chavez also and they are starting to pay divedends. Wells and Chavez homered tonight and Renteria has been lights out lately. Stay patience. I took advantage of other owners getting fed up with their players. Do the same. Just an opinion. Thanks for the reply.

I guess so. I do appreciate your opinion, I just fancied a bit of a debate
Problem I have with spot starters is I don't realy want to drop any of my pitchers. They may not have the huge names like the Zambrano's or the Halladay's, but its taken me 9 weeks to assemble a staff that I'm relatively happy with. Am I overating guys like Penny, Westbrook and Greinke? They have been good to me when I've used them right.

Ive done that with Chavez, Rolen and now Helton and Renteria. Huff, Wells and Drew where my problem to begin with
