Why wouldn't he? He looks great...Who knows when Prior is coming back and we all know Wood is going right back to the DL 2 starts after he comes back...

I picked him up quite a while ago in some leagues in need of pitching remembering last year's results and haven't been dissappointed yet. They would be wise to keep him in the rotation until Prior comes back. Who would be better for that rotation spot now anyways?

Prior is out until well after the ASB (possibly 1 1/2 months) and Wood is on the rebound. That would bring it back to the 5 man that Dusty wants with Rusch-Prior-Wood-Ramierez-Maddux. Of course, this is the Cubs we are talkin' about here so expect either an implosion of epic proportions or just the collapse of Wrigley Field itself before they have a healthy rotation again.

You know it to be true. Unfortunately so do I. What a waste of talent and an above average draft pick.

I thought Prior was supposed to be back before that which is primarily why I asked....if Rusch isn't going back to the pen anytime soon I'm going to pick him up.

Rusch will be in the rotation for the rest of the year. Initially Dempster was the 5th starter, but he's going to remain the closer. So even when the Cubs rotation is completely healthy Rusch will remain the 5th starter, unless Dusty for some reason goes with Mitre or Koronka, which would absolutely baffle the entire world.

Rusch has been his most consistent starter this year so it wouldn't make any sense to move him to the pen!
