I can think of about 4.6 million reasons why. I would venture Philly would need to eat some of his salary to make him attractive to another team.

I'm an Utley owner in my keeper league (my other 2B is Belliard) and I wish they'd just let him play.

I will start Utley everyday vs righties, in a weekly League if they are going against 5 righties or more. I will also start him against bad lefties, knowing that they might get shelled and goto the pen and he might be able to come in later.

I did start him when he had the PHGS because Rueter was pitching and he sucks.

Utley's starting today vs. a lefty! (The Halsey kid from Arizona). Here's hoping for a solid day .

Hes fine, he has been batting like an avg to mid 2B vs lefties (going o'fer once in while) but rocking righties. Hes a full time starter benched or not.

Look at it as gods way of telling you its better off that way when hes benched.
