since going yard and 4-for-4 overall on may 17th, justin has amassed only 6 hits (no homers) in his subsequent 45 at-bats.

has anybody seen or heard anything that would explain the funk? or better, anything that would indicate he's on his way out of it?

I mentioned this a few days ago and folks jumped on me for worrying too much. His streak is now getting pretty long and frigid... all since I aquired him, coincidentally.

I'm still trying to write it off, personally, and hope it's just him working through hitting major league pitching. Hopefully he'll come around, but his numbers are quickly becoming average for the year.

Analysis? I think his numbers speak for themselves... he's unproven, but yet has the ability to put up good numbers (for a week). It's not enough to get excited about just because he has a pretty swing. The kid swings at awful pitches, gets confused, and easily struggles. I'm sure he'll be good some day, but everyone has him all pimped out this season and I just dont see it.

I'd rather have Dimitri Young, personally

Like most talented young players his production will hit peaks and troughs with relatively great variability.. Knowing when to play him is the key.
