Magglio Ordonez, who underwent hernia surgery five weeks ago, hit off a tee and played catch today.
The Tigers are sticking to the original eight- to 12-week timetable for Ordonez, saying he'd probably return in another [/b]three[/b] to seven weeks. Once Ordonez returns, the Tigers will probably put Craig Monroe back in center field, sending Nook Logan to the bench. Jun. 1 - 10:
News: The Detroit News reports Magglio Ordonez took batting practice for the first time since his hernia surgery and the session went so well, Trammell had to tone down his optimism. "Very nice," manager Allan Trammell said. "He's a very good hitter who uses the whole field. That's what he was doing out there. He hit for quite a while. But that's why we did it before an off day."
Analysis: Trammell added, "No question he'll be sore (Thursday), but it'll be good sore. I have to say, the thought of him in our lineup is very appealing. It's still a few weeks away, but I'm looking forward to it." Maggs isn't due back until July at the earliest.
I coulda sworn I saw maggs dipping in and out of my garbage heap this morning.
Could be a sign? No?
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.
