SKINNY: Walker is not in danger of losing his job as closer, despite his recent struggles, says manager Felipe Alou, according to the Giants' official site.
ROTOWIRE SPIN: Walker has converted seven of eight saves, but when pitching in a non-save opportunity, he has faltered. In the past three appearances, he surrendered six runs over 1 2/3 innings, with a 32.40 ERA over that span. "We don't know him yet, and I don't believe he knows himself yet," said Alou, adding he hasn't lost faith in the 29-year-old right-hander. "We don't have time now to look for a closer. A guy like Tyler needs the experience, regardless of what happens this year -- blown saves, he's going to be a better pitcher. He doesn't have the experience now, but he's going to get it. And he's got the arm to get better."
