Deadbeat team in league

Postby volkswag63 » Wed Jun 01, 2005 11:53 am

Im a first time comish and I have a manager that hasn't played their team since the draft. There are some very strong players on their team and it's frustrating me. Any advice on what I can do about this? I've emailed the manager but have not been able to get a hold of them. I don't want to dump the entire team onto the waver wire, but I hate having a team that isn't being played in my league. please help.

In one of my leagues, we had a team raping. Sad thing was, that team that was inactive was in 1st place when his team was dismantled.

Ouch.
what exactly does that mean, just throw the team up for grabs?

Last year I was commisoner in a league that had 3 inactive teams at the beginning of the season. I managed all 3 of them for a month. 2 came back to life. Maybe they had computer problems or were ill. My management saved the league from being a shell. 11 out of 12 teams finished the year active. One of the previously inactive teams finished 2nd.

I didn't think of that. I guess I could manage it and hope.

You have to manage the team as if it were your own. It's the right thing to do. Just hope that someone on his team blows out an ACL or something.

I have people that are willing to take over, it's a yahoo league and I don't know the managers password and stuff to trade it over. Is there a way to do it without that info?

I had the same problem in our 12 team private Yahoo league. I warned the 2 owners I would bench their teams if they didn't get
active. Their teams are now benched, and headed to last place
Our league is a keeper league, so I will have 2 good teams to offer
owners next year. I would never manage the teams, that's a lose
lose deal for the commish- do well and the other owners complain,
do poorly and someone will find a way to accuse you of benefiting
your team.
